Comment:  If you like “Family Guy” and “American Dad”, you will probably like this show.  It is worth the watch if you like either show.

Community

Network: NBC

Summary: A fast-talkin’ lawyer (Joel McHale) whose degree has been revoked forms a study group made up of a band of misfits. -zap2it

Comment:  Airing in the Thursday comedy NBC slot, this show has the chance to be very good.  Joel McHale is very funny in “The Soup”, but will it translate to this show, we’ll see.  It is worthy of a couple of episode preview.

FlashForward

Network: ABC

Summary: During a mysterious black out, everybody in the world has a two-minute vision of their future. -zap2it

Comment:  Interesting premise to a show.  It could be very good, and it is seems to be taking the premise of Lost with the flash forward idea.  However, it will be competing against the Thursday NBC comedies, so this could be an online watch.

V

Network: ABC

Summary: A “re-imagining” of the 1980′s series about Earth’s first encounter with an alien race that says it comes in peace, but may have more sinister plans in the works. -zap2it

Comment: No, this is not a television adaption for V for Vendetta, but the premise of the show is interesting.  It may be a good sci-fi for people that are into that genre.

Continuing Shows

The next season of The Office will start this fall.  Also, 24 and Friday Night Lights will continue sometime in the future, while Entourage is already airing.

Jay Leno Show

Network: NBC

Comment:  Jay Leno will be back this fall in a new timeslot at 10 pm.

Darker than BLACK: Gemini of the Meteor

Comment:  Darker than BLACK is one of my favorite series.  I enjoyed season 1 and cannot wait for season 2.  I just hope that it will not have second season syndrome like Gundam 00 and Code Geass R2.  Hopefully, the tone of the show stays the same and that they develop the new characters like how they did the first season.

Trapeze ( Kūchū Buranko)

Animation Studio: Toei Animation

Director:  Kenji Nakamura

Summary:  Irabu Ichiro is an eccentric psychiatrist. Patients, who visit him to have a counseling, are perplexed with his weird behavior. -MAL

A Japanese short novel and a title of a collection of short stories written by Hideo Okuda and is the second volume of Irabu Ichiro series.  It is also the 131st Naoki Prize winners.

Comment:  From basically the staff of Monoke, they bring you the adaptation of Trapeze.  It seems to be a very interesting, and I hope it does not fail in it.   I heard that the book is pretty good and has some witty comedy in it.  Also, it airs at Fuji TV noitamina’s timeslot, which aired Honey and Clover, the Nodame series, Eden of the East, and recently Tokyo Magnitude 8.0.

The first book of the series, In the Pool, has been released with English translation.   So if you want to find out more, you can pick it up.

Reaching You (Kimi ni Todoke)

Animation Studio: Production I.G.

Director:  Hiro Kaburaki

Summary:  Kimi ni Todoke is about a girl named Kuronuma Sawako. She is nicknamed Sadako (from The Ring) because many people see her as strange and often mistake her for a ghost. A boy called Kazehaya kun becomes her friend and, to her, is “100% refreshness.”

Kuronuma Sawako’s one wish in life is to make friends. That’s a difficult proposition when everyone who meets her cowers in terror. She admires her classmate, Kazehaya-kun, a popular, easygoing and 100% refreshing guy who is nice with everyone, even with her. -ANN

Comment:  Based from one of the most popular shoujo manga out there right now, this show cannot help but pique my interest.  Whether it will be good or not, will be tough to determine if you have not read the manga.  However, I put potential on this one being at least good.  If not else, at least the animation production should be good since Production I.G. is handling it.

So if you want to find out more about this, read the manga and make your decision.

Everything Else:

Well everything else does not look too interesting right now or is just crap and should not be watched.

Edit:  Blue Literature also looks interesting.   Also, Kobato might be worth a couple episode watch since it is based off of CLAMP manga.

With the start of the new NFL season, the continuation of the Madden Curse occurs.  With only one NFL game, Troy Polamalu has been bitten by the Madden Curse.  This leads to the question in when will Larry Fitzgerald see the Madden Curse.

Edit:  According to Mike Tomlin in his post game press conference, he says that Troy Polamalu has a sprained MCL, and he thinks that he would be out for 3-6 weeks.

I cannot wait til this comes out due to me being a Gundam fan.

Berlino with Bolt

Usain Bolt with another world record.  This time, it is in the 200m race with the time of 19.19s.   This guy is FAST.  He is making his opponents just look slow.   I do not think anyone can beat him in the next couple of years if he stays healthy.  He is a runner ahead of his times in physical strength and speed.  We got to enjoy his runs as we can because it could be awhile before we see another athlete as dominant as him in their respective sport.

Is this ugly or not?

Is it just me or does the new PS3 slim looks ugly?  Give me back my George Foreman grill/paperweight, please.

Aside from that, the PS3 is finally lowering their prices, and maybe this high potential product could start catching up to the XB0X 360 and the Wii.

Well, it took 0 minutes for FOX to screw up their coverage.  They had some techincal difficulty on the international feed commentator and were forced to have one of their own do emergency broadcasting for about 20 minutes until they were fixed.  Despite this problem, overall, the coverage was pretty good.  There was no ticker and the international commentators were pretty good.  Also, the broadcast was aired in HD, for those who picked it up, which ESPN did not do until the final.

While it was a solid day for FOX, they did have some hiccups.  First, was their techincal difficulty that they had with the audio.  Secondly, some of the regional sports network, mainly Comcast Sportsnet, screwed up in their HD feed.  However, this was mainly Comcast’s fault on that one.  Third and this is a minor complaint, the Heineken inserts are more annoying compared to ESPN’s Heineken inserts.  The inserts happened for about every segment.

These problems can be worked out, and probably FOX’s coverage will get better in the future.  The only things I miss that ESPN did well is that 2 matches per week that is available in many people’s home, free online replays like how ESPN360 did, and the commentary of Derek Rae.

Awesome:
Bakemonogatari – All I have to say is wow.  The animation quality on this anime is great.  It really helps with the HD.  The storyline is very interesting with the couple arcs they have went through right now.  It may not be for everyone since this anime is dialogue heavy.  I mean REALLY dialogue heavy, but if you like dark humor and like Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, this might be for you.  Be warned, there are a lot of flashing scenes with words.  Best anime this summer.

Great:
Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei – In typical Zetsubou Sensei fashion, the puns, the parody, and the jokes continue.  If you liked the show, you have no problem liking the third season of it.  If you did not like the previous seasons, you probably will not.

Good:
CANAAN – I had very high hopes for this anime, but it ended up being disappointing compared to my expectations.  While it was disappointing, the show is still good.  The action sequence is well animated, and the storyline is getting really interesting after episode 7.  The plot can be a little weak at times.  This show is like your typical summer blockbuster movie with action with flaws.

Umineko no Naku Koro Ni – This anime is based on the visual novel.  Compared to the visual novel, the anime lacks pacing and character development.  While the anime may have this flaw, the storyline is basically the same as the visual novel.  The storyline is very strong.  If you are a mystery and horror type of person you may like this one.

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 -  Good story and good character development.  It might be boring to people and some people may not like the very emo main character.

Average:
Sora no Manimani – A very generic anime with about a girl and a nerdy boy.  The girl is very hyper and into astronomy, and the boy is a quiet person who likes to read books.  They both get into the astronomy club and generic comedy ensues with some astronomy lessons in it.  Some may like and some may not.

Boring:
Aoi Hana – This anime was boring.  Could not stand it after 3 episodes.  The main girl was not a great leading character, and the plot seem to go VERY slow.

Those were the main anime that I watched that premiere in the summer season.  Overall, a decent season.

I know that this might sound petty and childish, I hope the Minnesota Vikings have a terrible season because of him.  In addition, I hope that Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers just destory him.
